President’s Mid Year Report: January to June 2026
We have somehow reached July already.
Putting together our President’s Mid Year Report has made us stop and take stock of just how much has happened in the first half of 2026.
It has been a busy, focused and important six months for Lung Cancer Europe.
We held our first annual conference in Vienna, bringing together members, advocates, clinicians, researchers, partners and supporters from across Europe.
We launched the 11th Lung Cancer Europe Report on lung cancer and mental health at ELCC in Copenhagen, drawing on responses from more than 2,200 people across 31 countries.
We launched our new Charter for people affected by lung cancer across Europe, setting out 11 core commitments around diagnosis, treatment access, quality of life, information and support.
We have also continued to move major projects forward, including the FAST-NGS biomarker testing pilot in Greece and the launch of Atlas II, our redesigned Access to Treatment Atlas.
At the same time, Lung Cancer Europe has been present in key clinical, scientific, policy and advocacy spaces, from ECR and ELCC to ASCO, the World Health Assembly and World Cancer Series Europe.
Looking ahead
The second half of 2026 will see a number of significant initiatives, including Get Checked 2026, our AI information assistant and further public awareness and advocacy activity.
Planning is also already underway for our second annual conference, which will take place in Warsaw in April 2027.
This is also our first report under our updated Lung Cancer Europe identity. From 1 July, everything moves to lungcancereurope.eu as our single permanent home.
