Mental health is a major part of living with lung cancer, but support is still inconsistent across Europe.
Lung Cancer Europe’s 10th Report brings together experiences from across the region to show where emotional and psychological needs are being missed, what support people value, and what healthcare systems need to improve.

Lung Cancer Europe’s 10th Report, titled Mental Health and Lung Cancer, is the largest global survey to date on the psychological and emotional impact of the disease.
Based on data from 2,204 participants across 31 countries, the report highlights the distress, fear, and isolation that often go unrecognised in cancer care and how many people are left without the mental health support they need.
The survey was conducted online between 28 May and 6 July 2025, and included people living with lung cancer and their caregivers.
The goal of this report is to better understand the emotional and psychological needs of those affected, and to provide clear, practical recommendations for integrating mental health into cancer care.
Lung Cancer Europe 10th Country Reports
Lung Cancer Europe’s 10th Report examined the impact of lung cancer on mental health across Europe.
Ten country reports were then developed to provide a closer look at national findings, using responses from people affected by lung cancer in each country.
Published on 26 March 2026, the country reports are available in their native languages and can be read or downloaded below.
