Get Checked! 2026 campaign materials launch
Lung Cancer Europe has launched the first phase of Get Checked! 2026, with new campaign materials for members, advocates and supporters to use during Lung Cancer Awareness Month this November.
Now in its sixth year, Get Checked! is Lung Cancer Europe’s annual lung cancer awareness campaign.
This year, the campaign focuses on primary care, looking at the experiences of people affected by lung cancer and healthcare professionals on both sides of the consultation. We chose this focus following feedback from our members, who identified primary care as an area they particularly wanted the campaign to address.
Real experiences. Different perspectives.
What does a lung cancer symptom actually feel like? What can make someone wait before seeking help? What happens when symptoms could have several explanations? And what is it like for healthcare professionals trying to work out what needs to happen next?
Get Checked! 2026 brings together real experiences from people diagnosed with lung cancer and healthcare professionals, alongside data from Lung Cancer Europe’s research.
The first set of campaign materials includes 30 social media posts, covering data, lived experiences and perspectives from healthcare professionals.
The posts show just how varied the path to a lung cancer diagnosis can be. Some people experienced symptoms commonly associated with lung cancer. Others did not. Some sought help quickly, while for others it took time to reach a diagnosis.
Together, their experiences highlight the importance of listening when something has changed, taking persistent or unexplained symptoms seriously and supporting people through the uncertainty of investigation and diagnosis.
Take part in Get Checked! 2026
Campaign materials are now available for Lung Cancer Europe members, advocates and supporters to use and share in the run up to Lung Cancer Awareness Month, in November and beyond.
The toolkit includes:
30 social media assets
editable Canva templates so organisations can change language and add their own logo
campaign text in 15 languages
suggested social media captions
guidance to help organisations use the materials
Organisations can choose the posts most relevant to their audiences and communities. There is no need to use all 30.
More to come
This is the first phase of Get Checked! 2026.
The full Get Checked! 2026 campaign website will launch next, bringing together the wider campaign and more of the stories behind it.
We have more lived experiences to share, including videos and stories contributed by people affected by lung cancer. These will be added as the campaign develops and shared throughout Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
So, if you have contributed your experience or recorded something for Get Checked! and do not see it in this first set of social media assets, don’t worry. There is much more to come.
Lung Cancer Europe will also share additional Get Checked! content across our social media channels, website and wider communications throughout November.
