Artificial intelligence is already becoming part of healthcare, from analysing scans to supporting diagnosis and treatment decisions.
It could improve lung cancer care, but only if it is developed and used responsibly. People affected by lung cancer must be involved, healthcare professionals must remain in control and trust must be earned through safety, transparency and accountability.
This position statement sets out Lung Cancer Europe’s principles for the responsible use of AI in lung cancer care.
